First HAL Tejas handed over

First Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL)  Light Combat Aircraft Tejas is handed over Monday to the Indian Air Force (IAF) for Initial Operational Clearance (IOC).
Aircraft Certificate  will therefore be handed over by Defence Minister A K Antony to Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal P V Naik.

IAF has  placed orders   for 40 of these fighter aircraft, which is seen as a replacement of the ageing MIG 21s.
